Get ready for an adventure with the “Alchemy of Clay: Contemporary Innovations in Ceramics”, A 7-month masterclass with George Vavatsis – From the Idea to the Exhibition
This time, things are shaking up as a team of max 10 participants will come together, creating a melting pot of ideas. It will be a dynamic laboratory of research, ingenuity, and the coexistence of understanding and creation, guiding you from the original idea to the final exhibition.
You will get your hands dirty harvesting materials, discussing forms, methods, and techniques, creating shapes with a strong meaning, diving into the world of glaze and surface decoration, and experimenting with natural and processed materials.
You’ll receive invaluable insights and guidance throughout the masterclass with the final goal of exhibiting your work in a group show with George Vavatsis. The exact dates and venue of this exhibition will be announced soon.
Masterclass duration: November 2023 to May 2024
Hours per month: 2 five-hour classes on Fridays and Saturdays
Dates of classes: 10-11/11, 1-2/12, 12-13/1, 9-10/2, 8-9/3, 12-13/4, 17-18/5
Fridays: 17:00 – 22:00
Saturdays: 10:00 – 15:00
Attendance is mandatory to all the dates of the Masterclass period.
Cost of masterclass: 1750 (in 7 installments of 250 euro) including VAT, all materials and firings)*
For projects larger than 30 liters of volume there will be a charge of 2 euros per extra liter of volume.
Cost of participation in the exhibition 50 euros. This cost is for organization and communication costs.
In case any of you want to work on your project at our place for extra days and hours, the cost of using the workshop is 5 euros/hour.
Payment method: 7 monthly installments of 250 euros.
