Elemental Encounters

Annie’s sculptures are a conversation with the topographical features of Koufonisia. During her residency on the island, She created sculptures of amorphous forms that may or may not resemble corals, waves, caves, and other organic elements that one may witness walking around the island’s coastal path. Purposefully, she doesn’t give them a definite form- Annie reflects on a place where all elements in her surrounding landscape, including her own bodily human form, continually collide and transform, blurring the boundaries between each other into a vibrant mesh of unified entities.
